Short biography
Andreas Weiland studied social sciences and sociology/empirical social research at the University of Cologne with a stay abroad at the University of Utrecht. From 2017 to 2023, he worked at the University of Mannheim at the Chair of Macrosociology, for the Mannheim Center for European Social Research (MZES), and in the Collaborative Research Center 884: “Political Economy of Reforms”. In 2024, he completed his doctorate at the University of Mannheim on the topic of “Couple careers and the financial security of women in old age”.
From February 2023 to June 2025, he was employed at the Chair of Sociology, in particular Family and Work. Since May 2023, he has been a co-PI in the AGE-WEALTH project.
