Congratulations on your doctorate, Sandra!

We warmly congratulate Sandra Birnstiel on the successful completion of her doctorate!

With her dissertation, Sandra has carried out an ambitious research project over the past few years and made an important contribution to closing a research gap in the field of gamification. Her work focused on the question of how gamification can be used in team sports and what potential it offers, particularly for fostering team cohesion and team identity.

Her research provides not only relevant theoretical contributions that have already gained international recognition, but also valuable practical insights into the design and application of gamified approaches in the context of sports. In doing so, Sandra makes an important contribution to the further development of gamification research at the intersection of theory and practice.

Sandra has also been a great asset to our research group over the past few years. Alongside her own research, she has always supported our team and, through her commitment, contributed significantly to strengthening our team cohesion.
