Admission
The Double Degree Programme always begins in the winter terms. Students apply at the university where they want to start the Double Degree Programme. The admission procedures follow the common rules of the regular single degree programmes. At the University of Bamberg, students apply for the regular "M.A. Soziologie", at the University of Trento, students apply for the "Laurea Magistrale in Sociology and Social Research - classe 88". For the Double Degree Programme there are however additional admission criteria.
Admission Requirements M.A. Sociology in Bamberg
Applicants have to:
- satisfy the admission criteria of the "M.A. Soziologie" at the University of Bamberg, i.e.
- hold a higher education degree with a minimum of 30 ECTS accumulated in Sociology,
of which at least 10 credits are connected to sociological fundamentals and 10 credits are connected to methods of quantitative empirical social research or statistics. - with a grade point average of at least 2.5 on the German grading scale or equivalent
- hold a higher education degree with a minimum of 30 ECTS accumulated in Sociology,
- satisfy the admission criteria of the "Laurea Magistrale in Sociology and Social Research - classe 88" at the University of Trento
- possess sufficient English language skills (level B2 of the Common European Framework)
- document B2-level German language skills if they want to start the programme in Bamberg
- document A1-level German language skills if they want to start the programme in Trento (these can also be obtained during the second year in Bamberg)
Admission Requirements Laurea Magistrale in Sociology and Social Research in Trento
- Enroled in a M.A. or M.S. of Sociology
- a certificate documenting mininum B1-level English language skills (European Framework)
- with a grade point average of at least 2.36 on the German grading scale or equivalent
- 60 ECTS at least in two of the following parts (1. Law and Political Science, 2. Sociology, 3. Economics ans Statistics, 4. Antropology, History and pedagogy)
